New Hampshire Online Gambling in 2024

New Hampshire is home to one of the country’s oldest state lotteries, so it isn’t surprising that it has built up a reputation as a gambling-friendly state. Online sports betting and wagering on horse races is available, too.

But there are still some restrictions and limitations in place as of 2024. Sports bettors do not have a ton of online sports betting operators to choose from, as DraftKings Sportsbook is the only choice of online sportsbooks licensed by the state. Also, under the current gambling laws, there is still no online platform for legal table games, poker and other casino games.

But fear not, bettors of the Granite State. You have many offshore options when it comes to the top New Hampshire online gambling sites. In this guide, we show you the best sites to join to win real money, what makes them the best and we go over the long history of gambling in New Hampshire.

Can you legally gamble online in New Hampshire?

Yes, New Hampshire is home to several forms of gambling that you can do legally online. For instance, New Hampshire allows online sports betting, horse race betting, Daily Fantasy Sports and lottery games.

It is poker and casino-style games (slots and table games) that are still viewed as a game of chance rather than a game of skill, so there is no legal online platform for those forms of gambling. You will have to visit offshore casinos to play those from New Hampshire.

The legal gambling age in New Hampshire is just 18 years of age.

The Top Online Gambling Sites Compared

We have included detailed reviews of our top offshore gambling sites below. At all of our top-rated sites for New Hampshire bettors, you can expect online sports betting with popular teams as well as international leagues and niche sports to place your sports wagers on. You can expect an online casino with table games, poker games (video or otherwise) and other online casino games, as well as betting on horse races at popular horse racing tracks.

We recommend trying all these sites, but with our reviews, we hope to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each to guide you to the best fit for what kind of gambler you are.

1. Bookmaker: Best for Sports Betting

Bookmaker.eu

When it comes to online sportsbooks, Bookmaker.eu is unrivaled in putting up the earliest betting lines in the market. This is why sports bettors love using Bookmaker, as they can place bets with high limits on the earliest of lines before more money comes in from the public to adjust the lines before the game starts.

Not only can you place your sports bets on the professional sports teams in the most popular sports, but you will find plenty of college betting action, niche sports and international leagues that the likes of DraftKings Sportsbook will not provide to New Hampshire players.

At Bookmaker, winning players are not limited either. They can continue their winning ways in the casino section, which has a solid selection of table games, slots and more. You can get RTP info on every game in the casino, showing the return-to-player rate that the game pays back to customers on average. This is valuable information that other online gambling sites do not show.

With a strong mobile site design and great customer service team, you get an exceptional gaming experience using Bookmaker. They also have a great reward program that is three tiers and you can get great deposit bonuses using that the more you bet.

Pros

  • Earliest sports betting lines
  • Winning players are not limited
  • Great reward program
  • Strong mobile site design
  • RTP info on casino games
  • Fixed odds racebook with rebates

Cons

  • Lacks a poker room
  • Props market is not very varied
  • Better range of casino games at other sites

2. Heritage Sports: Best for Cashback Programs

Heritage Sports homepage

Costa Rica is home to many great online gambling sites and Heritage Sports is a great example. Once an invite-only site, anyone in New Hampshire can join the site today. The main feature is that users can get reduced juice (-108 lines) on the sportsbook and a variety of great cashback programs.

Players can get a daily racebook rebate, a monthly rebate on net casino losses, and a rebate every quarter on their total sports betting handle. You can also get unique perks like a free birthday parlay (worth up to $500), and every eighth deposit is free if you go seven deposits without a payout. This makes up for the smaller welcome bonus for new users. Also, bonus funds can be used anywhere on the site with no restriction.

Heritage Sports lacks online poker tournaments and the kind of cash games you would expect at a card room in person, but it still provides users an assortment of video poker options. The online casino also has other classic games as well as online slots. Another important perk is that every game has a free-to-try demo version.

With a great mobile design that makes live betting fun, there is something for everyone at Heritage Sports. They also cover esports better than most sites.

Pros

  • Great mobile site for live betting
  • Best for cashback programs
  • Good reduced juice (-108)
  • Casino games all have demo versions
  • Unique perks like free birthday parlay
  • Bonus funds can be used anywhere on site

Cons

  • Only poker available is video poker
  • Smaller welcome bonus than rivals

3. Bovada: Best for Poker and Props

Bovada Sportsbook Homepage

Bovada is the top choice on our list for online poker as they run on the No. 1 network for American online poker players. You will find plenty of tournaments and cash games as the site hands out roughly $2 million in poker winnings on a weekly basis. Players can also play anonymously at tables to hide their strategies. Just download the poker software and quickly get started today.

The sportsbook is also one of the best at Bovada with our favorite player prop builder. You will find a wide variety of props and it is easy to parlay them together from the same game, different games and different sports. You will also find a great site layout with everything neatly labeled and great use of menus and drop-down lists. Bovada is also one of the easiest sites to add to your home screen to make it work just like an app on your mobile device.

The racebook is one of the best with a sleek design and Bovada is the best at offering virtual racing markets. You place your bets, then you can watch the race play out virtually with streaming video. These are offered in virtual horses, greyhounds, camels and supercars.

The Bovada casino has plenty of blackjack options and other table games to go along with slots and video poker. There are many payment options available at Bovada and crypto users can get huge welcome bonuses with up to $3,750 in bonus funds over their first three crypto deposits.

The one big drawback to Bovada is the ongoing promos are not that common like at other sites, but you can enter a loyalty program where you accumulate points with the more you bet. The promo codes at Bovada are still solid. The best news is these points never expire and you do not drop down in level in the program. These points can be redeemed for bonus bets and poker tournaments.

Pros

  • Our favorite player prop builder
  • Great mobile site design
  • Best choice for online poker players
  • Exclusive sign-up bonuses for crypto players
  • Points never expire in rewards program
  • Best for virtual racing games

Cons

  • Lines are not put out as early as at other sites
  • Lacks ongoing promos for loyal users
  • No racebook rebates

4. BetOnline: Best for Fast Payouts and High Limits

BetOnline Homepage

BetOnline is another great all-around online gambling site. You get a fine sportsbook with plenty of live betting markets, international leagues, reduced juice on NHL games and opinionated lines on popular markets. You can also get a lot of alternate lines for player props in the NFL and NBA.

Like Bovada, BetOnline runs on a fine poker network with plenty of tournaments and cash games each week. They have bad beat jackpots too, where all players at the table can win under certain conditions.

The casino is great at BetOnline as it offers an extensive range of games, including many newer slot games that are only found at BetOnline. You will also find table games, specialty games, live dealer games and much more. The only downside is that the casino games do not come with demo versions to try for free as they do at some betting site options.

BetOnline also has a very good racebook with dozens of tracks and high limits. You get the highest daily rebate (9%) for exotic wagers and you can try your first horse racing bet risk-free for up to $25.

The great combination found at BetOnline is fast payouts, high limits, excellent bonuses and a wide variety of payment methods (with reasonable minimum deposits). The promo codes at BetOnline can also be used for additional perks and benefits. It should be easy for any gambler to have a great online gaming experience at BetOnline.

Pros

  • Plenty of exclusive casino games
  • Sportsbook with opinionated lines
  • Reduced juice for NHL fans
  • Unique and enticing promotions
  • High limits and quick payouts
  • Great poker tournament variety

Cons

  • Charges credit card deposit fees
  • No demo versions in casino

5. BetAnySports: Best for Reduced Juice and Lottery Games

BetAnySports Homepage

Our fifth online gambling site with an A+ rating is BetAnySports. The sportsbook does present a learning curve as it can be hard to understand the difference in the lines provided, but you can find the best reduced juice here, with -105 lines on popular markets. Live betting and props betting are also great at this sportsbook. This is in addition to BetAnySport’s promos which can be used to get some bonus funds.

Beyond sports betting, BetAnySports has some of the best non-sports betting options. There are eight different casinos to choose from and while some games overlap among them, each has a unique feel to it and a solid casino game variety to choose from. The live dealer selection is also better than most with reasonable limits and dealers who will communicate with you by name if you want. Of course, eight casinos also means a plethora of slot games to choose from as well.

The lottery section is very unique with the ability to play your favorite numbers in the daily drawings at various states around the country. You also get 80% better payouts on wins, so the lottery section is a must for anyone with an interest in numbers.

The site design could use some improvement, but once you get past the quirks, BetAnySports is a great gambling choice for sports fans, casino gaming fans, lottery fans and horse racing fans.

Pros

  • Underrated player prop builder
  • Best reduced juice lines (-105)
  • Fantastic casino gaming options in 8 different rooms
  • Live dealer games are great
  • Unique lottery section

Cons

  • No poker tournaments
  • Site design could use a revamp

6. BetUS: Best for Expert Analysis and Picks

BetUS homepage

With nearly 30 years in the business, you can find a lot of good gambling information at BetUS in the form of helpful guides and expert analysis. BetUS TV is a YouTube channel with original shows that cover just about every sport you can want with expert picks and analysis at no cost.

The deposit match bonuses have high rollover requirements, but they are uniquely split between the casino and sportsbook to urge users to try both. The casino is very good with newer games and demo versions available, unlike most sites.

The sportsbook gets the job done with a prop builder and plenty of popular leagues, college sports, niche sports and international leagues. You can do live betting at all hours of the day, and the limits at the site are reasonable.

Pros

  • Unique range of promos for new users
  • Informative gambling guides
  • Best for original content (BetUS TV)
  • Quality site design
  • Great casino game library with demos

Cons

  • No poker tournaments
  • High rollover requirements
  • Mediocre props builder

7. WagerWeb: Top Choice for Crypto Fans

WagerWeb Homepage

WagerWeb models itself after Heritage Sports, meaning you will find reduced juice, esports markets, quality live betting at all hours of the day and some casino games (no poker room available). WagerWeb even goes a bit further to offer true parlay odds and a weekly NFL contest during the season.

WagerWeb’s best promos are mainly for users who use Bitcoin and MoneyGram as their deposit methods. They also give a free deposit on your 10th deposit without a payout, whereas Heritage Sports does it for your eighth. We also must note that customer service is not open 24/7 at WagerWeb.

But if you use crypto options and have an interest in getting better parlay odds, esports and live betting, then WagerWeb is going to be one of your top choices.

Pros

  • Great crypto bonuses
  • Good esports coverage and live betting options
  • True parlay odds
  • Free NFL contest

Cons

  • Deposit match bonuses are too crypto-focused
  • Customer service is not available 24/7
  • No poker tournaments

8. JustBet: Great Reward Program

JustBet Sportsbook Homepage

A sister site to Bookmaker.eu for the last decade, JustBet maintains that reputation of offering the earliest lines in sports betting. This is great value for sharp bettors and novice bettors who just want to get the best price they can early in the week. You also get high limits and winning players do not get limited at JustBet.

But by following Bookmaker so closely, that means JustBet does not do much to innovate itself, like offering a poker room, more casino games, games with demo versions or more props like Bovada.

Still, if you like the Bookmaker model, then you can also give JustBet a try to enjoy the same kind of reward programs and promotions. New users can get a 20-to-25% cash bonus of up to $500 depending on which deposit method they choose.

Pros

  • Sister site of our favorite betting site
  • Early sports lines
  • Great loyalty program with reload bonuses
  • Wide variety of sports offered
  • Tons of classic games

Cons

  • Does not have poker room
  • Offers no reduced juice betting lines

9. Everygame: Great Site Design and Poker Room

Everygame Sportsbook Homepage

Everygame is licensed in Antigua, where it spent 25 years as Intertops in this industry before undergoing a rebranding. With the new name, you get a site that does, in fact, have a deep variety of sports from all around the world. Live betting was included in 2021, so you get a fully functional sportsbook with props and parlays available.

The promo codes at Everygame are solid, but the real heart of the site is in the great design, which shows up well when you play the casino games and poker software. Yes, Everygame is on a short list of sites in our top 10 that have poker software to play cash games and tournaments. The traffic is not as high as you will find at Bovada and BetOnline, but that is not always a bad thing if you want to win tournaments. Just expect smaller top prizes at Everygame.

The casino games look and sound great and you can try an extensive selection of them with some demos. There are also live dealer options for popular table games like blackjack and roulette. The sports betting is more on the casual side, but you can get a solid all-around gambling experience at Everygame. Just take note that it is the only site in our top 10 that does not have a dedicated racebook section.

Pros

  • Great site design
  • Poker tournaments and cash games available
  • Good variety of sports and leagues offered
  • Exciting bonuses for new users
  • Great casino choices with demos available

Cons

  • No racebook section
  • More for casual sports bettors

10. SportsBetting.ag: Great for Fun Sports Promos

Sportsbetting Homepage

SportsBetting is a sister site to BetOnline, our No. 4 online gambling site. The good news is this means SportsBetting shares the same No. 3 poker network as BetOnline, so you will get plenty of tournament and cash games to choose from. You will also be able to enjoy the fun sports promos for bad beats, the bad beat jackpots in the poker room and the combo of high limits and quick payouts.

The downside is you still do not get any demo versions to try on the casino, the credit card deposits still have annoying fees and BetOnline has a better site design overall. But you can still take advantage of the welcome bonuses for new users if you are a fan of the BetOnline model because it is definitely emulated well by SportsBetting.

Pros

  • Fun promos for bad beats in sports
  • Same poker network as BetOnline
  • Generous welcome bonuses
  • Good casino offerings

Cons

  • No demos in casino
  • Some banking methods take longer to complete

Our Rating Methodology

You will find details of our rating methodology below, but we think the best offshore betting sites will excel by offering a wide variety of betting markets, banking options and promos. All sites in the online gambling industry should also be judged by how they approach safety, security, customer service and the design and functionality of their mobile site.

History of New Hampshire’s Gambling Laws

New Hampshire has been a moderate ally to legal gambling for the last century. In fact, the state lottery, introduced in 1964, is the third-oldest in the modern United States. Local fans can even play iLottery games on the New Hampshire Lottery site now.

But horse racing was initially the Granite State’s biggest gambling market thanks to the famed Rockingham Park, which opened in the early 1900s. It was 1933 when pari-mutuel horse race betting was legalized in the state with the formation of a racing commission. Greyhound racing was added in 1971 and simulcast race betting at off-track sites was introduced in 1991. But interest waned and the last live races in the state were held in 2009.

In 1949, New Hampshire first legalized charitable gaming (raffles, bingo, Lucky 7). Not a lot has changed on this front, though in 2018, the state did increase the maximum casino bet from $4 to $10. But New Hampshire has still not legalized online casino gaming or poker as of 2024.

Sports betting is a different story. Not much was happening thanks to PASPA effectively banning sports betting in most of the country in 1992. But a long legal battle ensued and sports contests were on the rise over time thanks to the popularity of fantasy leagues and Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS). New Hampshire even legalized DFS contests in 2017.

But the big moment came in 2018 when the Supreme Court overturned PASPA, allowing each state to have the right to choose if it wanted legal sports betting. The sports betting law was passed in New Hampshire in July 2019, signed by Gov. Chris Sununu. This approved in-person betting with retail sportsbooks like DraftKings Sportsbook, which has three locations in the state.

The online betting platform would launch at the beginning of 2020, and DraftKings Sportsbook has market exclusivity in New Hampshire as the only licensed sportsbook operating in the Granite State as of 2024. This comes despite a 2021 bill that allowed for up to 10 retail sportsbooks to operate in the state at any one time. That bill also approved in-game betting for these sportsbooks.

In 2022, the year’s sports betting revenue was $66.4 million with a total handle of $891.7 million. DraftKings could even add to its dominance in the state if it launches DK Horse, its racebook product. It is planned to launch soon in New Hampshire.

Timeline of Gambling in New Hampshire

The following timeline shows the key events in the full gambling history in New Hampshire:

Key Features of the Best Online Gambling Sites

In the following sections, we go through the key features that led to our grades for the top-ranked online gambling sites available to New Hampshire players.

Gambling Odds

We always want to feel like we are getting the best price for our bets at an online gambling site. The sportsbooks are very competitive, but some do a better job than others at offering reduced juice, opinionated lines or enhanced odds. This is why many bettors like to have an account with several sites to make sure they are getting the best value they can with their bets.

Betting Markets

No matter which form of gambling is your favorite, we expect a wide range of betting markets to make sure we keep coming back to the same site for our gambling needs. On the sportsbook, that means a wide variety of leagues, sports and betting types (parlays, round robins, teasers, pleasers, futures, props, live bets, etc.). For the casino, we expect table games, slots, video poker, specialty games, live dealer games, etc. For the racebook, we want win/place/show and exotic wagers (exacta, trifecta, Daily Double, etc.). For the poker room, we expect a variety of tournaments and cash games with different styles of play (Texas Hold’em, Omaha) and pot limits.

Banking Options

In 2024, we expect a diverse collection of payment methods at online gambling sites. There should be traditional methods such as credit cards, debit cards and bank transfers. There should also be more modern methods such as eWallets and crypto (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, etc.). We also take note of the fees, limits and processing times these different methods carry with them.

Promotional Offers

One of the best reasons to join an online gambling site is the bonuses. You get a big welcome bonus right away, which is usually a deposit match of your initial deposit, paid out in bonus bets. But those casino bonuses can have high rollover requirements. That is why we also like to see ongoing promos for returning users, including risk-free bets, reload bonuses, more deposit matches, enhanced odds, double loyalty points on select games, bad beat insurance bets and a refer-a-friend program.

A top online gambling site should also have a good loyalty or reward program where you accumulate points the more you bet. Those points can then be redeemed for perks like more bonus bets.

Live Dealers & Live Game Betting

Live betting is always growing in popularity due to the number of bets placed on mobile devices. With sports betting, in-game betting during live games can be an incredible value for hedging pre-game bets, taking advantage of something we see during the game or just spicing up a boring contest with more bets. Any top-ranked sportsbook should have a good live betting section with markets that go beyond just the spread, moneyline and total. We also expect the site to handle ‌live betting well by quickly taking the bets as speed is everything when you are betting live before the next play changes the odds.

As for the casino, live dealer games are an awesome alternative to electronic table games. You can watch a real dealer hand you your cards for blackjack, baccarat or spin the roulette wheel after you place your bets. Some sites will even call you by your name if you want and you can often chat via text with other players. These games have very reasonable limits and can bring the casino experience right to your fingertips.

User Experience

With online gambling sites, the user experience is going to benefit most from a site with very good design, graphics and sound to best emulate what it is like to play at a casino in person. We should be able to move on the fly from the casino to the sportsbook to the cashier to deposit more money or withdraw our winnings. Everything needs to be neatly labeled so we can find the betting markets we want to enjoy.

Mobile Functionality

Many people are using sportsbook or casino apps to do their online betting these days, but ‌offshore gambling sites usually lack downloadable apps. But they do have mobile sites optimized for use with mobile devices. These sites can be saved to your home screen for quicker access to use them like apps. But it is important for the mobile site to be highly functional with a good layout and no lag during the casino games or live betting markets in sports.

Customer Support

Whether you need help with a promotion or deposit, contacting the customer support team is going to be the way to get help at offshore gambling sites. The best sites will provide outstanding customer service, 24/7, with the most options possible to contact the team, including a phone number, email address, the ability to message through the site and a live chat feature that may be with a real agent or A.I.

Safety & Security

If you want to win real money online with gambling sites, you must submit personal data, including your name, address, phone number, email and some info to link your bank account or credit card. This is a lot of personal data, so we must be able to trust these sites to keep our connections secure and our data encrypted. That is why we prefer sites that have 10-plus years of experience in the online gambling industry. We trust these sites ‌to handle our sensitive data well.

Online & In-Person Gambling in New Hampshire

In the following sections, we look at the different forms of gambling offered to New Hampshire bettors. Some forms will preferably be done with online wagering, while other forms are available in person.

Sports Betting

New Hampshire has legal in-person sports betting and online sports betting. Laws were passed in 2019 to make this happen and allowances were made for ten legal sportsbooks to open up; however, as of 2024, DraftKings Sportsbook is still the only regulated operator in the state.

With DraftKings, New Hampshire sports bettors are not allowed to bet on in-state college teams or any college sports that take place in the state. But with offshore sportsbooks, you can bet on all aspects of sports betting, including local college teams and the most popular teams in sports. You will also find plenty of niche sports and international leagues available.

Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS)

Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) have been popular for roughly a decade now thanks to the contests offered at DraftKings and FanDuel. Both companies offer their DFS services to New Hampshire users. You can also use your account to join the DraftKings Sportsbook to do sports betting.

Horse Race Betting

New Hampshire has had legal pari-mutuel betting on horse races for 90 years now. In 1991, simulcast wagering was introduced in the state, but only one of the off-track betting facilities remains open today with a racebook at The Brook in Seabrook.

You can place your wagers on horse racing online with the help of popular, licensed sites like TVG and TwinSpires. You could also do pari-mutuel wagering at offshore racebooks like Bovada, Bookmaker and BetOnline by taking advantage of win/place/show and exotic betting markets. Bovada is also excellent for anyone interested in virtual horse racing machines where you can place your wagers and then watch the virtual race play out on streaming video.

New Hampshire Lottery & Lottery Games

The New Hampshire Lottery Commission oversees one of the oldest lotteries in the United States after beginning in 1964. Today, residents can enjoy state-exclusive games such as Keno 603, Pick 3, Pick 4 and Megabucks. They can also purchase lottery tickets for multi-state draw games like Powerball and Mega Millions.

The NH Lottery website allows users to play instant win games that act similar to online slot games. You can download an app to play these games, which include progressive jackpots and other real money prizes.

Casino Gambling

In New Hampshire, there is no legislation for online casino games, online poker or even any real table games or poker games played for real money in person. The state does not have commercial casinos or tribal casinos. All the land-based casinos in New Hampshire are charity casinos where a limited number of casino games are offered.

This is why playing online casino games at an offshore site is the best bet in New Hampshire. By joining these reputable sites we reviewed above, you can enjoy online slots, table games, video poker, specialty games and more.

Specialty Games

Some online casinos have a wide range of specialty games, which usually include Keno and scratch card games. You could also find bingo and minigames that are exclusive to that site. Some of the games are played closer to a video game than your usual slot machine game.

Charitable & Social Gambling

In New Hampshire, charitable gambling is legal at charitable casinos. The charitable gaming laws have changed over the years, and in 2018, the maximum bet allowed at charity casinos was increased from $4 to $10. You can usually play games like poker, bingo, Lucky 7 and raffles as long as they are for charitable purposes.

Creating an Online Gambling Account in NH

If you are going to do online betting at offshore sites, you must create an account and fund it with real money first. We have included a few simple steps to do that, and this process will be roughly the same no matter which site you choose to join.

Step 1. Sign-Up

Go to the site you wish to join and start the account creation process. Be sure to give your account a good password that you will not use elsewhere.

Step 2. Verify Your Details

Your account must be verified. Do this by providing more personal information, including your name, address, email and phone number. The site is likely to text you a code or email you a confirmation link to verify your account.

Step 3. Deposit Your Funds

Now you must add real money to your account. Before doing this, be sure you read over the full terms and conditions of the welcome bonus for new users. This will usually be in the form of a deposit match on your inaugural deposit, so be sure to take advantage of that and be aware of any minimum deposits. Once you know how much to deposit, head to the cashier and make that first deposit using your preferred deposit method.

Step 4. Enjoy Gambling Online

Now your account is ready to start betting real money on online casino gaming, sports betting, horse racing, poker and more.
