Here are the rankings for this week (last week in parenthesis)

1. Bills (2) - They went into Arrowhead and did something that they don’t normally do – win a close game. They’ve won their last couple close games despite some questionable play-calling. Fortunately they executed well down the stretch, and Allen’s shining last drive gives Buffalo the top spot. Let’s see if they can win these types of games when it matters most.

2. Chiefs (1) - They had an iffy game, though I though Mahomes actually played well for most of it. He was the QB that unfortunately made the most costly mistakes, but the offense seemed to a do a nice job moving the ball for the most part. They know what the measuring stick in the conference is, now.

3. Eagles (4) - They keep showing signs of looking amazing, and then looking like crap within the same game. They’re kind of fighting with fire. They will be caught once they play against a real team….which may be never, until the playoffs. Their schedule is a joke, so they will have a nice record in all likelihood.

4. 49ers (3) - I won’t call this game a complete fluke, but they do get a little bit of a pass for being so depleted injury-wise on defense. The line was only 4.5 for a reason. They may be a little beat up in the short term, and that sucks with KC coming, but the good news is these injuries shouldn’t hinder their whole year. They will be OK.

5. Rams (8) - They got a little more of a bump because of the struggling teams ahead of them. I think their offense finally showed some life against a decent defense yesterday. The o-line is gradually getting healthier. The defensive side of the ball is starting to look very nice.

6. Vikings (10) - This team gets outplayed for large stretches of games, but to their credit they have found ways to win ugly and have been on the right side in these grind-it-out type games. They are still very limited due to mediocre quarterback play and some questionable defensive pieces, but they are definitely a playoff team in that laughing stock of a division.

7. Bengals (11) - This was the type of game that Cincinnati needed to have. Their defense finally had a lapse, but the offense came through and showed how dangerous it can be. Great, long drives with a bevy of receiving options. If Burrow has time to throw, he is bound to carve you up. On the defensive side, for what it’s worth, they have not allowed a touchdown in the second half all year long. Opportunity to capitalize on some winnable games ahead.

8. Bucs (5) - The offense continues to have issues. Brady is getting a lot of flack, but in reality he has actually been pretty good and efficient. The main issue has been health-related – they still have a nice suite of weapons when at full strength, and their offensive line should get better. They should be thankful they are in quite a poor division though.

9. Ravens (6) - This team blew their third double-digit lead of the year after nearly doing so in Week 5. They’ve been ahead by double digits in literally all 6 games this year, which shows you their upside, but questionable decision-making and poore execution late in games has really cost them. They are still very dangerous but they don’t deserve to be much higher than this for now.

10. Patriots (13) - New England has really embraced what they do best these last couple weeks – play solid defense, control the clock with a strong running game, and win the turnover battle/limit your mistakes. They are a lot better of a team than people realize, and I expect them to be competitive all the way down to the wire of this season.

11. Packers (7) - This team continues to have problems. Losing to both New York teams, despite them both playing relatively well, is pretty shocking. This team misses Davante Adams pretty badly. On the other side of the ball this team is continuing to really struggle against the run. It’s one thing to give up yards to the Giants on the running game, but the Jets? They have problems.

12. Cowboys (11) - It was nice to see them fight back after getting blitzed in the first half. What we saw Sunday will pretty much close any small QB controversy this team may have had. Rush was finally forced to make some plays, and he showed us why he is a backup and not a starter in this league. This team will happily welcome Dak Prescott back.

13. Chargers (12) - This team deserves some credit for finding ways to win close games. There seem to be too many holes on this team still, and Herbert hasn’t been as great as many thought he would be. This team has faced the easiest schedule in the NFL to this point and they’re fortunate to be 4-2. They are solid but haven’t shown they are a true contender in my eyes.

14. Titans (14) - It will be interesting to see how this team comes out of the bye. They have a great opportunity to seize control of the division with a season sweep of the Colts, and with the Jags coming back to their normal selves. I trust this team to play well after a bye based on Vrabel’s non playoff history in those situations.

15. Colts (16) - This team has been gradually becoming more complete of an offense, and Ryan has been quietly playing better and showing some signs of his old self — the good version. They’re right in the mix after a slow start. They can thank some improvements on the defensive side for their success as well, though they were a bit leaky against the Jags. Big game for them coming up.

16. Giants (19) - Despite the clear limitations on this team, they continue to grind and be in the mix. Barkley remains healthy, and this offense better hopes he continues to be. Jones hasn’t been great, but good enough to steer the ship and not get in the way of their run-heavy and defensive focused game plan. Excited to see where they go.

17. Jets (20) - What a win for this team in Lambeau! I really thought they would come back down to earth, but I’m glad I was wrong. The energy surrounding this team is great. They have a lot of very good young players, and they are well coached. The atmosphere on this team has almost been college-like.

18. Dolphins (15)
- This team has unfortunately been riddled a bit by injuries, most notably at QB. But they also seem to be coming back to earth after the hot start. Their schedule is not too shabby coming up so they will have some opportunities to win, and having Tua back will help. So they’re not out of it by any means.

19. Raiders (18) - They should be a bit better after the bye. Even with the 1-4 record I still think this team is pretty dangerous and capable. The wild card picture will be bunched up this year with no truly great teams so I wouldn’t be shocked at all if this team works itself back into the mix.

20. Falcons (22) - This team is a covering machine — 6-0 against the spread! They continue to defy expectations. Major props to Mariota for being so versatile and to the offense/coaching for being creative and getting guys open. The defense also has been holding its own, though it will obviously get tested this weekend by Burrow and the Bengals.

21. Cardinals (17) - This team has been hard to figure out. They have shown some signs of life and brilliance, but unfortunately those have been considerably outweighed by the moments of pure ineptitude and sometimes straight up incompetence on both sides of the ball. Is Kingsbury on the hot seat?

22. Steelers (26) - The offense finally showed some life against one of the best defenses in the league. This team needs to hold steady as they try and get Watt back. Great step in performance by Trubisky after Pickett went down. Can they hang around? They are only one game back!

23. Seahawks (24) - Seattle showed some capability on the defensive end — that unit is getting better as they gain experience in some close games. They’re a work in progress but I think they will continue to show signs of life throughout the season. Combine that with a capable offense — which is getting more run/pass balanced — and we may have a playoff contender here.

24. Saints (23) — New Orleans got a great performance from its offensive line in the running game, and really looked impressive against a good defense. Unfortunately they weren’t able to execute in key situations, and the defense seemed to trend the wrong way over the course of the game. They have work to do, but aren’t out of it in the week NFC South.

25. Browns (21) — This team continues to try and put too much on Brisset’s plate. This team also has seen its turnovers and miscues tick up a bit — a trend that is troubling and must be avoided given the limitations of their QB and their disappointing defense. Nevertheless they have a big opportunity in Baltimore this weekend.

26. Jaguars (25) - Tough divisional loss after having a late lead. The good news is they got some of their rhythm in the offense back. The bad news is they could stop a team that was very one dimensional with its bell cow running back out of the game. This team is still trying to figure itself out. Hopefully they can stay in the mix.

27. Lions (28)
- Times are tough in Detroit. Let’s see if this team can come out firing after the bye. I think they are not a great team in the big picture, but I do think they are better than their record and expect them to be feisty.

28. Commanders (30) - Their season went from dead to on life support after escaping with a nail-biting victory. It may have only been Chicago, but their defense finally showed some life this week. They may be in some trouble moving forward with Wentz out and their division playing out of its mind. Let’s see if they can shock a reeling Packers team.

29. Bears (27) - Fields is showing some signs of progress, but he still has a long ways to go. Unfortunately for him he’s not getting a lot of help from either his weapons or his offensive line. The good news for Chicago is that its defense is starting to play better. I also think Eberflus has done a pretty solid job overall with a limited roster.

30. Texans (29) - Curious to see how this team comes out of the bye. I think they are starting to see some growth and has been competitive enough in their losses to believe that it can grind and win some games this year. Let’s see what happens.

31. Panthers (31) - This team really should just be jockeying for a draft pick at this point. They can’t seem to do anything well offensively. They need to gain assets and would be best off trading away McCaffery and focusing on the future. They have potential defensively but they are offensively a complete trainwreck.

32. Broncos (32) - This offense is garbage. Even though Wilson started well at 10/10 with a TD, he managed just 5/17 the rest of the game. Not only has he been generally disappointing by good QB standards — he has been straight up bad. There will be other scapegoats, but Wilson is clearly the main problem.

Whoa.... Wager. Thought you were a Bucs homeboy.
I guess you're not happy with their peformance lately. Probably not many are.
I am

But being realistic

Brady has personal issues, the offensive line with 3 new scrub starters suck, the defense stinks, especially the secondary, and the coaching is pathetic, mainly Byron Ledtwich's offensive play calling

They will be lucky to finish 9-8
