Nowadays with Twitter and other information sources, you probably get the news on there at the same time as the books do
I listened to a podcast recently with a Circa trader and he was talking about how they have a guy that just combs twitter for injury updates. Much easier to get information these days.

Do you agree with that or not so much ?
For me it's not true, but I'm sure it's very important for sportsbooks. Waiting for an injury to pop up and then trying to beat the sportsbooks to it is just another form of steam chasing.
I don't have a problem with steam chasing. Any angle you can get...

I actually like to bet against the steam on certain games wait until the last hour to bet, once you chase the steam you lose all the value with the actual odds long term. I can't believe some sportsbooks will limit you for this very strategy.

Some sportsbooks are market makers and sharp but most are dumb and don't see the big picture. Limiting and booting players is such a pussy way of going about making book.
You think a guy is sharp? Let him make his bets and move your line accordingly. Sharp bets=very valuable information. If I ran a sportsbook I would want to take every bet I possibly could, sharp or not.
Most truly sharp guys are on our side of the table. Sportsbooks don't pay very well.
