you sound bitter GOLD. Play the tourneys play small have some fun. A horse race is a race and sometimes it's easier to find angles in nickel claimers than stakes races. Just my 2 cents.

It’s WVa horse racing - overall it is just not a great scene. The only 2 things that are certain are the favorites won’t win and when a favorite wins it pays $2.20 (and probably more to place/show).

Sad how badly they got crushed between the bemouths on either side of them in Ohio and PA - Wva had a decade long head start with a gambling monopoly on slots and then got a head start on sports betting - but squandered it quickly once there was competition. There used to be parking lots full of cars from either state and tour buses by the dozens.

Nah - he’s too busy educating us on how to bet college hoops to realize that sometimes the “minor leagues” of racing are where you find the best value and occasionally find a jockey or 2 who will move on to bigger things and can cash in on them before everyone else starts betting them down to an unprofitable point.

Play small. play tourneys with the lower rake. you are not going to beat the game most likely but better than playing online casinos? or scratch offs?

you are not a shark GOLD in the racing game. neither am I. But I have seen the proof at HT of players making big bank on a regular basis. You and I are novices, compared to them. so in your mind it's a losing proposition and it very well might be. But for the ones who are in the know of how to play a horse of a different color. Tough complex game it is. NO doubt.
