The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has published a consultation document on the transitional arrangements illustrating in detail how the Government intends to move from the complex system of licenses, permits and registrations to the new system of regulation introduced by the Gambling Act 2005.

The proposals discussed in the consultation document are also intended to give operators a clear understanding of what they have to do and when, in order to convert their existing permissions, and to allow sufficient lead time to both the industry and regulators to prepare properly.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport welcomes all comments from local authorities, licensing justices, gambling operators, industry groups and anyone else interested in the Gambling Act.

A copy of the Transitional Arrangements is available on the DCMS website.

UPDATE: The Interactive Gaming Council, an international non-profit trade association involved with the interactive gaming industry, commended the UK Gambling Commission for the opportunity to participate in the debate for the development of a regulatory model for the remote gambling industry.

Here, you can find the IGC\’s responses to the questions raised in the consultation document.
