The British online gaming group reported a 57% increase in turnover to 85.6 million pounds as it posted a pretax loss of 6.9 million pounds, including goodwill write-offs and acquisition impairment charges.

Underlying profits came in at £100,000 in 2004 against a loss of £3.2m the previous year.

The company said the gross win was up to 11.1% from 6.7% due to the huge growth of its casino and poker games.

The content division, which includes Football365, Oddschecker and Sportinglife, boasted 7.1 million users at the end of 2004, up 25% on the previous year.

“Our content site traffic continues to grow, with over 8 million monthly users in the first quarter of 2005, and as we restrict the number of other bookmakers advertising on the sites, so our own gaming registrations will continue to improve. This coupled with the fact that we now have a complete range of gaming products, shortly to be enhanced with \’instant play\’ casino and download-able backgammon, will continue to improve gross win. This combination of low cost customer acquisition and expansion in both geographical territories and new product applications will leave us very well placed for 2005,” said Peter Dubens, UKbetting\’s Chairman.
