The action continues in Paris with the last matches of the BNP Paribas Masters first round taking place while the second round gets underway. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green-listed bookmakers.

Herbert vs. Lopez

Two outstanding servers will fight this Tuesday for a place in the 2nd round – Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Feliciano Lopez.

Known for his remarkable skills at the net, Herbert is currently the world no.2 on the ATP World Tour doubles ranking. Besides his results on the doubles, Herbert is also a very good player in singles. Playing on French soil brings the best out of Pierre with a 60.17% winning record and if we look at Herbert’s results in Paris, his numbers are even better with 62.50%. Herbert already played two matches on the qualifying stage, defeating Mikhail Youzhny and Ryan Harrison to secure a place in the main draw.

After winning only two of his last seven matches in Paris, the 2004 BNP Paribas Masters quarter-finalist – Feliciano Lopez – is looking for a better performance this year. Famous for his tricky slice backhand, the high bouncing courts in Paris are far from ideal for Feliciano’s game style, which is one of the reasons for his lack of success on this event in recent years.

This should be a very close encounter between two high-quality servers. Looking now to the bookmakers’ analysis, Feliciano is the favourite for this match at 57/100 at BetVictor while Bet365 offers 137/100 for Herbert’s victory. Due to the tough game conditions for the Spaniard and Herbert’s outstanding record on this event, the value is clearly on the French to reach the following round.

Baghdatis vs. Dimitrov

Looking now to the matches scheduled for this Tuesday in Paris, one of the highlights goes to the contest between Marcos Baghdatis and Grigor Dimitrov.

The 2007 BNP Paribas Masters semi-finalist – Marcos Baghdatis – started his campaign in Paris with a solid 6 – 2 6 – 4 triumph over Paul-Henri Mathieu. The Indoor Hard Court conditions clearly benefit Baghdatis’ solid baseline game with the Cypriot winning 66.67% of the matches played throughout his career on this surface.

Due to his ranking, Grigor Dimitrov only starts his campaign in the 2nd round. The Bulgarian is slowly returning to his best level and after some great results in recent months, Dimitrov already assured that he’ll end 2016 inside the top 20. Grigor is looking for his third career apperance on this event’s third round after reaching that stage in 2013 and 2015.

These two players know each other well with Dimitrov winning six of their previous seven meetings.

Despite Grigor’s large lead on the h2h, Baghdatis is not an easy match-up for the Bulgarian. Taking a look to Dimitrov’s six victories, only two of those were in straight sets. With this in mind, the value is clearly on Marcos’ odds at 231/100 at Pinnacle while Dimitrov is available at 11/25 at Coral. For those who want to take a lower risk, Baghdatis +1.5 Set Handicap at 23/25 at Pinnacle is very good approach for this match.
