The action continues in Paris with the players from the bottom half of the draw fighting for a place in the semi-finals on the women’s competition. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmakers.

Svitolina vs. Halep

The 2014 French Open runner-up – Simona Halep – continues her remarkable run in Paris. Besides not losing a single set on her path into the quarter-finals, Halep reaches this stage of the competition after an impressive 6 – 1 6 – 1 win against Carla Suarez Navarro. Known as one of the best returners in the game, Simona won 70.60% of her opponents’ service games in Paris.

The world no.1 on the WTA Race to Singapore – Elina Svitolina – is just one win away from an unprecedented appearance in the semi-finals of a Grand Slam event. Svitolina couldn’t have asked for a better way to start 2017 after winning 83.33% of the matches this season. Despite not playing her best tennis against Petra Martic in the previous round, Svitolina staged a fantastic comeback from 2 – 5 down on the decisive set.

Due to Halep’s astonishing campaign in Roland Garros, she’s the clear favourite to book a place in the semi-finals at 2/5 at William Hill. Although we agree with Simona’s favouritism, it’s impossible to find any value on her current price. On the other hand, BetVictor offers an interesting price of 9/4 for Svitolina’s victory. Despite the value on Elina’s moneyline, the best betting approach is to place a bet on the Ukrainian +1.5 Set Handicap at 22/25 at Pinnacle.

Garcia vs. Pliskova

After Kristina Mladenovic’s defeat in the quarter-finals, Caroline Garcia is the last French player left in Roland Garros. After winning four matches already in Paris, Garcia is just three wins away from becoming the first French player to win this tournament since Mary Pierce back in 2000. Looking now at Caroline’s campaign in Roland Garros, the world no.27 reaches this stage of the competition after an impressive victory over Alize Cornet.

Karolina Pliskova continues to pursue her first Grand Slam title. Adding to this, Karolina can also leave Paris as the new world no.1 if she makes it into the final in Roland Garros. Despite losing the opening set against Veronica Cepede Royg in the previous round, Pliskova proved too strong for the Paraguayan.

Taking a look now at the current prices, the bookmakers consider Pliskova the slight favourite at 61/100 at Pinnacle while Garcia is available at 137/100 at Bet365. Despite the value on Caroline’s betting odds, it’s hard to trust on the French due to her inconsistency. For that reason, our suggestion is to add the Over 22 to your tennis picks at 93/100 at Pinnacle.
