A surprising final takes place this Saturday in Auckland with Lauren Davis and Ana Konjuh fighting for the ASB Classic title. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixture below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmakers.

Davis vs. Konjuh

As we predicted in our WTA Auckland semi-finals analysis, Ana Konjuh and Julia Goerges featured an extremely close contest. Both players performed at a very high level with Konjuh emerging victorious at the end by 6 – 3 4 – 6 6 – 3. Ana keeps serving at a terrific level, winning 85.71% of her service games and saving 77.78% of the break points she faced against the German. This is already Konjuh’s second career final on the WTA Tour with the 19 years old winning her previous one two years ago in Nottingham’s grass.

Being the shortest player on the top 100 is far from a problem for Lauren Davis. Even though she’s only 5’ 2’’ (1.57m), Davis is one of the quickest players on the WTA Tour with a phenomenal footwork. Known for her outstanding return to serve, Lauren won 46.30% of the games played on her opponents’ serve throughout the week. Davis is still looking for her first WTA title after losing her previous two finals – both last year in Washington and Quebec.

This will be the 2nd career meeting between these two players with Davis winning their previous encounter three years ago on this same event by 2 – 6 6 – 2 6 – 2.

This should be a very interesting contest with Konjuh’s firepower contrasting with Davis terrific counter punching skills. Despite Lauren’s lead on the h2h, Ana is a much better player than she was three years ago. Adding to this, the Croat already won a WTA trophy while Davis lost her previous two finals. With this in mind, Konjuh deserves the favourite status for this match with BetVictor offering 3/4 for her victory while Davis is available at 5/4 at Pinnacle
