Don’t miss our two top tennis plays for this Tuesday’s action at the Mutua Madrid Open. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmaker.

ATP Madrid – Herbert vs. Pouille

For the second consecutive year, Pierre-Hugues Herbert secured a place in the Mutua Madrid Open main draw. Known as one of the best doubles player on the ATP World Tour, Herbert is also very dangerous in singles due to his powerful serve and outstanding skills at the net. Taking a look now at Pierre’s campaign in the qualifying, the world no.88 reaches this stage of the competition after two straight sets victories over Jerzy Janowicz and Andreas Seppi.

At the age of 23, Lucas Pouille is going through the best moment in his career. Besides winning his 2nd title on the ATP World Tour in Budapest, Pouille is currently on his career-high ranking as the world no.13. After reaching the semi-finals in Monte Carlo last month, Lucas is now looking for another successful run in a Masters 1000 event.

This will be the 2nd career meeting between these two players with Pouille emerging victorious from their previous encounter in Metz last season.

With Lucas playing at such a high level in recent months, it’s hard to go against him at this point. On the other hand, Herbert is far from a clay-court expert with a poor 40.62% winning record on this surface. With this in mind, Pouille deserves to be considered the heavy favourite to win this match at 1/4 with BetVictor while Coral offers 4/1 for Pierre’s victory. Due to the low price on Lucas’ moneyline, our suggestion is for you to take his -4.5 game handicap at 21/20 with 5Dimes.

WTA Madrid – Siegemund vs. Vandeweghe

Laura Siegemund continues her brilliant campaign in recent weeks. After winning the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix two weeks ago, Siegemund improved her impressive record against top 10 opponents to 8 – 6 after defeating Johanna Konta in the opening round. Despite facing one of the best servers on the WTA Tour, Laura won 48.39% of the points played on Johanna’s serve.

Regardless of this Tuesday’s result, Coco Vandeweghe already ensured her career-high ranking next week. Even though clay is far from Vandeweghe’s favourite surface, the American won 80.00% of the matches on red dirt in 2017. Known as one of the biggest servers on the WTA Tour, Coco is never an easy opponent to face. Adding to this, Madrid’s altitude provides extremely fast conditions to the players. Vandeweghe’s numbers in the 1st round against Anett Kontaveit are a perfect example of that with the American not allowing a single break of serve to Kontaveit.

These two players are no strangers with Vandeweghe leading on the h2h by 2 – 0. However, those two matches took place in 2009 when both players were still outside the top 200.

Despite Vandeweghe’s recent improvements on the red dirt, it’s impossible to go against Siegemund. The German is a phenomenal player on this surface with a brilliant 10 – 1 record

on clay in 2017. Having said that, we’ll add Laura to our betting picks at 31/50 at William Hill while Pinnacle offers 29/20 for Vandeweghe to secure a place in the 3rd round.
