The BNP Paribas Open 3rd round takes place this Monday in Indian Wells with the player from the top half of the draw in the men’s competition in action. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmakers.
ATP Indian Wells – Monfils vs. Isner
Playing in Indian Wells brings the best out of John Isner with the American always finding his best tennis in the Californian desert. Isner’s performance in the opening round against Mikhail Kukushkin is a great example of that. Besides not facing a single break point throughout the entire contest, the 2012 BNP Paribas Open runner-up ended the match with 77.10% first serves in and an astonishing average of 1.92 aces per service game.
After a brilliant campaign in 2016, with Gael Monfils securing a place in the ATP World Tour Finals for the first time in his career, it hasn’t been easy for the French to perform at the same level this season. Gael’s performance in the previous round against Darian King is a good example of that with the world no.11 dropping the opening set against a player who was never ranked in the top 100.
This will be the 9th career meeting between these two players with each of them winning four of their previous eight encounters.
Due to Isner’s outstanding numbers on serve in the previous match and brilliant record in Indian Wells, the value is clearly on his side with the American available at 127/100 with 5Dimes while Coral offers 67/100 for Gael’s victory. Besides the value on John’s moneyline, his +2.0 game handicap is also a very interesting approach at 79/100 at Pinnacle since it’s unlikely to see Monfils breaking Isner in this match.
WTA Indian Wells – Siniakova vs. Wozniacki
The 2011 BNP Paribas Open champion – Caroline Wozniacki – continues her impressive campaign in 2017. After reaching back to back finals in Doha and Dubai, Caroline is looking for another great result in Indian Wells. Wozniacki couldn’t ask for a better debut in the Californian desert with the former world no.1 improving her record on this event to 29 – 9 after an easy 6 – 3 6 – 0 win over Magda Linette.
It has been a great week for Katerina Siniakova with the Czech reaching this stage of the competition after defeating two extremely dangerous opponents – Mona Barthel and Carla Suarez Navarro. Looking now at Siniakova’s numbers throughout this event, the highlight clearly goes to her performance on pressure points. Apart from saving 69.60% of the break points on her service games, the world no.42 won 66.70% of the points when her opponents were facing break points.
These two players are no strangers with Wozniacki emerging victorious a few months ago in Wuhan by 6 – 4 6 – 4.
As it happened in their previous encounter, Caroline should be too solid for the Czech. Therefore, Wozniacki is the undeniable favourite to win this match with Pinnacle offering 13/50 for her victory while Siniakova is available at 7/2 with Bet365. Even though Caroline’s moneyline is a good option for a parlay, the price is too low for a single bet. Having said that, our suggestion is for you to take her -1.5 Set Handicap at 73/100 with Pinnacle.
