The quarter-finals gets underway this Tuesday with the players from the bottom half of the draw in action on the men’s competition. Bookmakers Review breaks down the fixtures below and lists the best available odds from green listed bookmakers.

Thiem vs. Djokovic

Dominic Thiem is one of the four players on the men’s competition who made it into the quarter-finals in Paris without losing a single set. Known as an exceptional clay-court player, Thiem holds a terrific 11 – 3 career record in Roland Garros. Despite his outstanding record in Paris, Dominic lost the previous two matches against top 10 opponents on this event, both in straight sets.

After a five-set battle against Diego Schwartzman in the 3rd round, Novak Djokovic clearly raised his level with a 7 – 6 6 – 1 6 – 3 victory in the following round against Albert Ramos-Vinolas. Despite his lack of success in recent months, Djokovic is always a dangerous player on Grand Slam events. The Serbian is for the 11th time in the quarter-finals in Paris with six consecutive victories at this stage of the competition.

Besides not winning any of their previous five meetings, Thiem was annihilated a few weeks ago in Rome. Adding to this, playing at the best-of-five sets should benefit Djokovic on this match. Therefore, Novak is the clear favourite to book a place in the semi-finals at 27/50 at Pinnacle while Thiem is available at 81/50 at Bet365.

Carreno Busta vs. Nadal

Regardless of this Tuesday’s outcome, Pablo Carreno Busta already secured his career-high ranking next week. Known as a phenomenal competitor, Carreno Busta booked a place in the quarter-finals of Roland Garros after a four-hour marathon against Milos Raonic. Looking now at Pablo’s numbers in the previous round, the highlight goes to his return to serve after breaking Raonic’s serve 7 times throughout the match.

Rafael Nadal continues to pursue his 10th career title in Roland Garros. Playing in Paris brings the best out of Nadal with an astonishing 97.44% winning record on this event throughout his career. Taking a look now at Rafael’s campaign on this year’s edition, the world no.4 reaches this stage of the competition after a 6 – 1 6 – 2 6 – 2 win over Roberto Bautista Agut.

As usual, Nadal is the undeniable favourite to win this match at -5000 at William Hill while Bet365 offers +1800 for Carreno Busta’s victory. Although we agree with Rafael’s favouritism, this should be a closer match than the odds suggest. For that reason, our suggestion is to place a bet on Pablo’s +10 game handicap at 7/10 at Pinnacle.
