Strong figures for Tabcorp\’s betting turnover in Victoria

Despite the television war on horse racing images between Sky Channel and TVN, Tabcorp reported a 2.1 per cent increase in Victorian-based turnover compared with the same period (May 4 to July 7) last year.

Since the Sky Channel/TVN war started on May 4, betting turnover has suffered an alarming drop in other states, including New South Wales and South Australia.

Tabcorp\’s figures show NSW-based turnover is down 12 per cent, while Unitab\’s figures show South Australian punting turnover dropped more than 5 per cent in May and more than 7 per cent in June compared with the same period last year.
