Sportingbet wins five awards at the annual IR Magazine Awards 2006

The annual IR Magazine UK Awards, held in association with the Financial Times, celebrate the country\’s best-performing companies in the field of shareholder communications as voted for by the investment community.

For the first time in the awards\’ 15-year history, IR Magazine introduced a category for leisure goods and gaming, recognizing the full-on growth of the gaming industry. Online betting group Sportingbet made a big splash in the smaller company categories, winning four out of the five awards it was shortlisted for, including Best annual report by a non-FTSE 100 company, Best investor relations by an Aim company, Grand prix for best smaller company investor relations and Best IR by sector (leisure goods and gaming).

CEO Nigel Payne took the award for best investor relations by a CEO. In addition, the company also received a \’highly commended\’ for the best results meetings and analysts briefings at a non-FTSE 100 company.

The award for Best North American investor relations in the UK market went to software developer CryptoLogic.

Elsewhere, seven sites managed by the Tusk Investment Corporation in Australia and a further five operated by the Vegas Partner Lounge group received the “Play It Safe” seal for fair gaming and best operational practices from eCOGRA, the independent standards authority for the online gambling industry.

Tusk Investment Corporation is about to be acquired by the Australian listed company Global Approach for AS$ 19.37 million.
