The lottery systems provider announced it would buy the British supplier of fixed odds betting terminals and certain related companies for $183 million plus an additional amount depending on the future performance of the business.

“Global Draw will give us a platform for accelerating our participation in sports betting and video lottery businesses globally,” said Lorne Weil, Scientific Games Chief Executive.

The company will finance the acquisition through a combination of borrowings under an existing credit facility and new debt.

Global Draw supplies betting terminals and systems as well as interactive sports betting systems in Britain and is looking to expand its presence in other European video lottery markets, Scientific Games said in a statement.

It is unclear if Malta-based Omnibet is one of the “related companies.”

This is the second international acquisition announced by Scientific Games this month. The New York-based company announced last week the acquisition of online lottery assets of Swedish firm EssNet AB for about $60 million.

EssNet, which specializes in online lottery systems and terminals to run numbers games, sports betting, instant tickets and mobile games, has many national lotteries within its customers, including seven states in Germany, the national lotteries of Hungary and Norway, and Tattersall\’s Lottery in Australia.

Scientific Games said that after the deal EssNet will focus on the interactive gaming market by developing further its subsidiary EssNet Interactive.
