The formerly managing director of Betdaq, and previously of the Tote and Coral, will launch in the summer a new company, Race-O.

The new betting operation will include among its services a brand new Super Bet, a bet capable of generating million pound jackpots for racing fans, which will predict correctly the winners of several races each Saturday.

“We will be seeking to distribute the bet through bookmakers and other betting and gaming-related companies, some of which we have already had initial talks with,” said Hartnett.

“Race-O will also work with leaders in the field to provide a broad range of betting opportunities, to create a one-stop betting platform with racing at its core.”

Hartnett pledged that over 20 per cent of revenue, from every bet type struck through Race-O, will be distributed directly to horse racing.

Among the investors of Race-O are chairman Sir David Sieff, a former director of the BHB, the Tote and Marks and Spencer, Timeform\’s Jim McGrath and Jockey Club senior steward Julian Richmond-Watson.
