Coral Eurobet said that yesterday had been the worst day for punters in the history of betting at the Cheltenham Festival as not one favourite won a race.

“It\’s hard to say what the best result was because although Denman and Kauto Star getting beaten were brilliant, it was in the bumper that punters were fighting to get out of jail and backing Equus Maximus and Kicks For Free,” said Simon Clare, PR Director at Coral.

“We literally barely took a penny on the winner and it couldn\’t have worked out any better.”

“If we\’d sat down this morning and printed the results off then we couldn\’t have done a better job,” said David Hood, PR Director at William Hill.
