Premier League Round 6 Betting – Leicester vs. Liverpool

8th place Liverpool travels to play 15th place Leicester on Saturday. This is their second mutual encounter in less than one week as they’ve already played each other on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup. Both managers used their 2nd squad and despite Liverpool totally dominating the match, the possession, and the scoring opportunities, Leicester won 2-0 with goals from Okazaki and Slimani.

Obviously, the League Cup is a different competition and the teams are not playing at their highest level. Surely Saturday’s match will be a totally different one, and Liverpool will try to return home with the three points and revenge the mid-week result. The home team has won each of the last four mutual encounters between Leicester and Liverpool with three of their previous four head-to-heads finishing with at least 3 goals. Both squads look like they are going to make a priority of the Premier League and they will surely field their strong players.

Leicester’s only win of the season so far was home 2-0 over Brighton finding themselves much lower down the EPL table than many would have expected at this point. But we expect them to bounce back and finish the season in top 7 because they really deserve that as they are playing a positive football, have great skills in the all the fields and also a great attacking firepower. The fixtures of the season haven’t been kind to Jurgen Klopp’s men so far, winning just two matches and struggling to find their best shape. They are amongst the worst defensive sides in the league with 9 goals conceded in 5 matches. The mid-week Carabao Cup fixture was the perfect opportunity for Jurgen Klopp to rest some of his key players showing us that he is not really interested in this competition. So now they should focus on the Premier League and on the Champions League. Liverpool has disappointed since beating Arsenal 4-0 three-round ago so they should really try to find their best shape and start winning matches. It will be really difficult for them to perform at their highest level in both Premier League and Champions League cause their bench is not so attractive.

We expect a goal-fest with both teams finding the back of the net and with at least three goals in the match. Leicester is priced at 4.15 with the green listed bookmaker Unibet to win the match with Liverpool being priced at 1.91 with Betfair. We are not touching the winners market because Liverpool is not the team to back at the moment and because Leicester has the power to win two games in 4 days against them.

Best pick for the match: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 2.0 with Coral
