Premier League Betting: WBA A Hot Pick For A Win

It is fair to say that Huddersfield Town versus West Bromwich Albion is not one of the matches which have tempted TV companies to spend millions on acquiring the rights to the  English Premier League. Indeed, you could probably count on two hands the number of folks, outside of Yorkshire and the Black Country, who are interested in the Saturday fixture.

So let’s do something about it, hey? It may not be a glamour tie but it does offer terrific betting value. And that is what floats our boat. We don’t care if it’s Corinthian Casuals taking on the Dog and Duck. If there’s a good bet to be had we’ll salivate as if it was a top of the table title decider.

Simply, West Brom are the bet here. We can get +205 with Unibet about the Midlands club taking all three points. What we particularly like about the wager is the fact that we’re swimming against the tide rather.

Now, you wouldn’t have said that about this fixture at the start of the season. Huddersfield, organised and fiercely competitive, have had a terrific-looking start to life in the top flight. They are 13th and stunned Manchester United with a convincing win two games ago.

Indeed, Huddersfield are enjoying the sort of campaign that West Brom are used to. But WBA have been very un-WBA like so far, a characteristic which has seeped over from last term.

Ordinarily pragmatic, West Brom are on a poor run. They have only won two of their last 19. It is the sort of sequence which would have fans calling for a manager’s head. But Tony Pulis is pretty much bullet-proof at this level. He knows his onions.

And we reckon he will know how to get Huddersfield beat; sapping their energy, sitting back and hitting them with a couple of sucker punches on the break.

In a way this is the sort of game which actually shows how far, or not, Huddersfield have progressed. This is the bread and butter of Premier League life and they may well soon find out that it can be tough to digest.

There are signs that they could start to splutter. They have scored only three goals in nine games and seven times they have failed to score at all. Take out that win over United, which Jose Mourinho blamed on his players for not trying hard enough, and they have no wins in seven.

For correct score bigger hitters, a 1-0 WBA win at 7 with 5Dimes and 2-0 +1400 with Sports Winner hold great appeal.
