In the latest conflict between online bookmakers and state-run betting monopolies, Portugal will probe the four-year deal BetandWin signed to sponsor the country\’s national soccer league.
The state betting authority Santa Casa de Misericordia (SCML) raised doubts over the deal\’s legality, objecting that online betting companies are operating without a license in Portugal and to promote them is illegal.
Laurentino Dias, Portugal\’s Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, will refer the case to the Attorney General\’s Office
