Playtech will continue to operate PartyGaming\’s newly acquired websites

The online gambling software developer signed a four-year agreement to continue to power the online gaming websites that PartyGaming has agreed to buy from Empire Online and Intercontinental Online Gaming.

The fact that PartyGaming has chosen to continue operating these sites on the Playtech platform is a clear indication of the market leading position that our software holds. We believe that Playtech\’s software will compliment PartyGaming\’s existing products whilst providing an additional route to further revenue enhancement.”

In separate news, GigaMedia licensed its real money MahJong software to Carmen Media Group and announced a strategic cooperation agreement with Yahoo! Taiwan to market MahJong, the \’poker of Asia\’, to the world.

Australian lottery operator Tattersall\’s raised its cash bid for UK gambling company Talarius by 10p to 280p a share to incentivize shareholders to accept the offer.

According to industry analysts, South African gambling operator Sun International is well positioned to take advantage of opportunities in the liberalized Spanish market, after that a source close to the company said Sun International was planning a bold move into online gambling.
