While the BetonSports arrests may have discouraged PartyGaming executives from travel to the US, the online gambling group is to go ahead with a major advertising campaign for its PartyCasino website.
Chief Executive Mitch Garber said the action against BetonSports would not stop his company from “legally marketing in the US” through a variety of channels – internet, television, radio, newspapers and sponsorship deals.
Last week at a press conference, the company said it is not overduly worried about the US charges against BetonSports. “The characteristics of the indictment are very far away from what PartyGaming does,” said Garber. “PartyGaming intentionally does not take US telephone bets on sports,” he added.
The Financial Times quoted the PartyGaming CEO as saying PartyGaming will continue with its strategy of moving into sports betting, despite the recent indictment of BetonSports Chief Executive David Carruthers.
Garber said the company would not take bets from US customers or on US sporting events. “There will not be a way for US-based customers to use our sportsbook,” he added.
