“For the past eight years certain members of Congress have tried to introduce proposals that would seek to prohibit US citizens from wagering on the Internet. In each case they have failed,” Edward Bridges, a spokesman for PartyGaming in London, told Bloomberg News today. As reported by The Sunday Times, if the legislation proposed by Arizona Senator Jon Kyl, to ban bank and credit card companies from allowing their customers to use accounts for online gambling, should become law, the world’s biggest online poker operator would lose most of its clients in the US.
