The former executive director of Canbet is suing his old company and International All Sports for defamation over the contents of an update of the merger between the two groups emailed to customers in August 2004.
The e-mail suggested Tomeny was responsible for poor performance and business practices at Canbet, that he failed as a manager and that he performed so poorly Canbet removed him.
Tomeny said he left to launch a new venture, the Mansion sports exchange, and when he departed the company was in good shape.
