Giorgio Galimberti has been banned by the ATP for 100 days and fined $35,000 for betting on tennis. He is the fourth Italian player banned for betting in the past year. Alessio Di Mauro, Potito Starace and Daniele Bracciali all received similar fines and bans from playing.
“The ATP’s Tennis Anti Corruption Program is clear in regards to gambling on tennis matches by ATP players, player associates and staff,” said in a statement ATP’s Gayle David Bradshaw. “It unambiguously states that gambling on any form of tennis matches will not be tolerated.”
