British Gambling Commission will be issuing their Licensing Conditions and Codes of Practice in mid November. These will outline how the Commission intends to regulate the gambling industry in accordance with the Gambling Act 2005 being effective from September 2007.
Just a couple of weeks after the publication, Clarion ATE’s Gambling Codes of Practice will provide a forum for UK betting operators to discuss the new licensing regime and regulatory changes they can expect in 2007.
But not all UK bookmakers are enthusiasts of the new Gambling Commission.
A couple of weeks ago, Will Roseff of Bet365, speaking at the Remote Gambling Association annual general meeting, went as far as to say: “Nobody knows what the Gambling Commission is for any more, nor why it is being imposed on a betting industry that doesn’t need it.”
