SkillJam, FUN wholly-owned subsidiary, has acquired the Arizona-based developer of single-player and multiplayer mobile and online games for a consideration of $3 million with an earn-out of up to $3 million.
In 2005, Octopi recorded an unaudited profit before tax of approximately $800,000.
FUN announced that it will take advantage of Octopi\’s expertise in game development to help its other subsidiaries – SkillJam, Fanball and Don Best – with new development initiatives such as more mobile applications, and additional online gaming content.
In separate news, BetonSports launched its new flagship online casino powered by Real Time Gaming casino software. The new online casino includes more than 80 casino games such as blackjack, slots, video poker, craps, roulette, multi-hand blackjack and huge progressive jackpots.
Elsewhere, Gala Group closed its online casinos galacasino.co.uk and galainternational.com, previously powered by St Minver, and announced that it will be launchinga brand new Gala online casino in February.
