The world soccer\’s governing body announced that every player, official and referee in the World Cup will have to sign a written pledge that they and their families will not bet on the tournament.
Starting at this year\’s World Cup, FIFA will also have its own company working with legitimate bookmakers to track any unusual betting trends at all international competitions.
“If we discover from the market that there are bets being placed on certain matches that are not going in a proper way, then we can act accordingly,” said Urs Linsi, FIFA General Secretary.
