European Commission officials to decide on sports gambling restrictions

While Australia, Canada and Macau are reported to have filed compensation claims against the United States in their online gambling dispute with Antigua, a spokesman for the European Commission confirmed to Reuters that the EC will decide on Wednesday whether to take legal action against France, Sweden and Greece for protecting their sports betting monopolies and domestic gambling markets from competition of private operators in other EU member states.
