The developer of WifiCasino GS, a wireless hand-held gaming system, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Touchdev Limited, a private UK company providing gaming software products with wireless PDA and cellular-phone-based capabilities.
David Loflin, Diamond I\’s CEO said the acquisition of Touchdev is expected to provide Diamond I a platform from which to become a dynamic participant in the wireless hand-held and cellular-phone-based gaming segments.
“With this deal, Diamond I broadens its international presence to the UK and gains immediate access to cellular and wi-fi handheld gaming segments worldwide. Marketing of Diamond I\’s products will now be possible on both PDAs and cell phones, opening up multi-billion dollar markets,” said Loflin.
In separate news, Endemol UK announced the launch of a new digital media division which will create multi-platform gaming entertainment. Endemol Gaming hopes to build on the UK group’s strategic relationships with key players in the gaming industry to bring mass-market entertainment to the sector. The new division will aim to create stand-alone content for a wide range of media platforms, including live sports betting, poker, instant win games, gaming TV, fixed odds games, multiplayer quiz formats and skill games.
Elsewhere, Virgin Games appointed digital agency Lean Mean Fighting Machine to create a rich-media campaign targeting 24-45-year-olds with the aim to improve the performance of Virgin\’s casino and poker sites.
