The 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup will be held in Russia from 17 June to 2 July 2017. This will be the 10th FIFA Confederations Cup organized by FIFA. The defending champions, Brazil, won the previous three Confederation Cups but failed to qualify for the first time since 1995. Eight national teams are fighting for the trophy – Russia (hosts), Germany (World Cup 2014 winners), Australia (AFC Asian Cup 2015 winners), Chile (Copa America 2017 winners), Mexico (CONCACAF Gold Cup play-off winner), New Zealand (OFC Nations Cup 2016 winners), Portugal (Euro 2016 winners) and Cameroon (Africa Cup of Nations 2017 winners). The eight teams are divided in two groups with the top two from each group qualifying to the knockout rounds. It will be the 1st time in the Confederations Cup history when three teams from the same confederations are qualified in the tournament (UEFA – Russia, Portugal and Germany).

GROUP A – Russia, New Zealand, Portugal, Mexico

GROUP B – Cameroon, Chile, Australia, Germany

Germany are currently favorites to win the trophy being priced at +210 with 10bet but their coach, Joachim Low, has decided to rest some of his key players (Toni Kroos, Thomas Muller and Mesut Ozil, Jerome Boateng, Mario Gomez, Mats Hummels, Sami Khedira). Another star player left-out of the squad is Dortmund’s winger Marco Reus due to injury. Germany are priced at +120 to win their group. Given the experimental nature of their squad, Germany are not the team to bet on.

Portugal are ranked second favorites by the bookies and they are priced at +250 with 10bet. After enjoying another outstanding season for his club (Real Madrid – La Liga and Champions League winners) and for his country (Portugal – EURO 2016 winners), captain Cristiano Ronaldo will be looking to win another trophy in Russia. He is priced at +190 with 10bet to be the top scorer of the tournament. Portugal are priced at -125 with several green listed bookmakers to win their group. We expect both Portugal and Germany to qualify easily in the semi-finals.

Despite having a long and exhausting Premier League season with big ups and downs, Alexis Sanchez will join his teammates trying to give his best and helping his national squad to lift the Confederations Cups trophy. Chile enter this competition winning back-to-back Copa America titles in 2015 and 2016. They are a talented team with great players that can make the difference (Arturo Vidal, Gary Medel, Claudio Bravo). Chile are priced at +325 with 10bet to lift the trophy and we believe we might have a great chance to see that happening. Another great bet is: Chile to reach the final priced at +105 with Bet365.

Four of the last eight Confederations Cup hosts have reached the final. That’s good information but we don’t expect Russia to arrive so far. Yes, we can see them qualifying in the semi-finals at -165 with 10bet. Mexico and Cameroon are seen as 4th and 5th favorites but it will be really tough for them to finish the group stage in top places. Bad news for Cameroon is that no African team has ever won the Confederations Cup. A great bet – Mexico to be eliminated from the group stage at +100 with 10bet.

Australia and New Zealand are the outsiders of the tournament and we expect them not picking up points for their three group stage fixtures. As a matter of fact we are waiting for the special markets to appear and we can bet on the team that will concede the most goals – New Zealand.
