According to the Austrian news agency APA, the online bookmaker filed the complaint in reaction to statements by the French Tennis Federation suggesting that online sports betting operators present ethical dangers to the sport.
Bwin is a member of the European Gaming and Betting Association, a body which promotes the sharing of betting audit trails with regulators and which works closely with the European Sports Security Association, the creators of a warning system that enables the early detection of irregular betting patterns.
In related news, Thomson Financial reported that the FFT hopes to have a court ruling on legal proceedings to ban online betting on the French Open before the tournament starts on May 25.
