The Irish bookmaker experienced a 36% rise in 2006 turnover to EUR 501.7 million, due to the expansion of all three betting channels: Retail, Fon-A-Bet and E-Gaming. Operating profit for the same period was EUR 3.9 million.
For the year ending June 2007, Boylesports said it forecasts a 20 per cent rise in turnover to EUR 600 million and an operating profit in the region of EUR 15 million. The Irish bookie also said it expects the internet to contribute 50 per cent of group profits within five years.
In separate news, Irish research firm iReach released a new study indicating that online gambling is set to quadruple by 2020 aided by the proliferation of broadband internet, WAP technology and interactive television.
