Under the agreement, the regulators of professional golf in Australia will receive a fair share of the revenue Betfair generates from betting on their events together with complete access to the audit trail of betting transactions to help maintain the integrity of the sport.
Elsewhere, former Tote CEO John Heaton reiterated that Interactive Gaming Holdings, parent company of Premierbet and Heathorns, would be interested in bidding for the state-owned bookmaker if the opportunity arose.
“If the Tote became available, we would be interested. We\’d be primarily interested in the shops and internet side of the business, rather than pool betting,” said Heaton. “I\’d be happy to use either Heathorns or Premierbet in taking on the shops, as they\’re both strong brands for the high street.”
