Speaking at the first press conference since their release on bail from a French jail, BWin Co-Chief Executives Manfred Bodner and Norbert Teufelberger have stated the company will be reducing its marketing spend in the hope of “boosting profits earlier than planned.”
The two, who described their detainment as the hardest test in their lives, will have to return to France in November for further questioning. At issue is the legality of the BWin presence on the French market.
A lawyer for BWin said that because the company has a gambling license in Gibraltar, it can operate throughout Europe under EU law.
