Wawrinka vs. Federer

The expectations are high for this Sunday’s final with Stan Wawrinka and Roger Federer fighting for the first Masters 1000 title of 2017.

Roger Federer booked a place in the BNP Paribas Open Final for the 7th time in his career after defeating Jack Sock in the previous round. Federer couldn’t ask for a better performance in Indian Wells with the four-time champion yet to lose a serve in the tournament. At the age of 35, Roger is trying to become the oldest player to win an ATP Masters 1000 title.

Despite Stan Wawrinka’s poor career record on ATP Masters 1000 events, the Swiss didn’t waste the opportunity to reach his 4th career final after Andy Murray’s surprising defeat. After struggling to perform at his best in the first rounds, the three-time Grand Slam champion clearly raised his level in the semi-finals with an easy straight sets victory over Pablo Carreno Busta.

Due to Federer’s 19 – 3 lead on the h2h, he’s the main favourite to win this match with Pinnacle offering 43/100 for his victory while Stan is available at 21/10 with 5Dimes. Even though we agree with Roger’s favouritism, this should be a much closer match than the odds suggest. Therefore, Wawrinka’s +1.5 Set Handicap at 3/4 with Pinnacle is definitely the best betting approach for this final.
