As reported by newspapers in Gibraltar, employees at the two online gambling companies have started receiving redundancy letters. The layoffs, which follow the forced abandonment of the US market after the passing of the UIGE Act, should affect as many as 150 staff at 888 and up to 80 at PartyGaming, although the online poker company said later it expects to retain some of these employees through redeployment in new vacancies.
