With the 2017 Super Rugby season set to resume this weekend, we take a look at how the play off picture is shaping up and take in the latest outright betting in our green listed bookmakers.

The regular season is heading for the final straight and although some franchises still have as many as three fixtures to fulfill, the play off contenders have already been identified with 4 New Zealand sides joined by 3 from South Africa and 1 from Australia. However, these final rounds will unravel who travels where in the knockout rounds and despite boasting a 100% record, the Crusaders are not yet assured of finishing in top spot.

As things stand the Crusaders are 7 points better off than the Lions, the only side who could deny them top spot and a home final should they progress through the play offs. The Crusaders will wrap up the regular season with a local derby away to the Hurricanes whilst the Lions host the Sunwolves and then travel to Durban to face off with the Sharks so in theory, the Lions could still top the table.

The Hurricanes and the Chiefs are second and third in the New Zealand Conference right now but only a single point separates them. If the season were to end with no change to the current standings, the composition of the play offs would be as follows:

Crusaders v Sharks

Lions v Highlanders

Brumbies v Chiefs

Stormers v Hurricanes

Let’s take a look at the latest prices bearing in mind prices are correct at the time of writing but are subject to change.

Outright Winner Betting with Bet365

Crusaders 15/10

Hurricanes 7/2

Lions 9/2

Chiefs 6/1

Highlanders 9/1

Stormers 50/1

Brumbies 66/1

Sharks 66/1

The Crusaders are very strong but at the prices the Chiefs, likely to win an away quarter final in Australia look an interesting price for value ahead of the play-offs
