Thursday’s NHL card sees us visit Minnesota, Canada and Colorado for today’s NHL Top Picks & Props article.

We are looking to bet San Jose on the PK Line (brave or foolish?). We also like the first period under in the Avalanche vs. Jets matchup and finally, Artemi Panarin is plus money to continue his points streak on the road.

Ready for our breakdown of the NHL odds at the top-rated sportsbooks? Let’s go!

San Jose Sharks vs. Minnesota Wild

Thursday, March 28, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at Xcel Energy Center

Target San Jose PK Line

This might seem like an easy pick for most, it’s the Sharks after all and they always lose (currently 1-9 in their last 10). We instantly saw this as a possible underdog spot. However, to learn the Sharks were priced as high as +120 on the PK Line was incredible news.

Expecting to bet around +100 for the PK line, we are more than happy with the +120 value that’s currently on offer. The Minnesota Wild are not hot right now and could be upset yet again having lost 3 of their previous four games.

NHL Pick

At the very least it’s hard to argue against a road dog at +120 on the PK Line, even if it is the San Jose Sharks. In fairness to the Sharks they have had a 4-1 run on the +1.5 line in their previous five matchups against the Minnesota Wild, let’s hope they make it a 5-1 run tonight.

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Winnipeg Jets

Thursday, March 28, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at Canada Life Centre

Cool Your First-Period Jets

The fact we are laying -110 shows us the sportsbooks are bang on the money for this pick. Hence, there’s not a whole lot of value. Lay as much as -115 or -120 if you’re adding it to a parlay. Either way it’s a pick we like very much in this matchup.

The Winnipeg Jets have seen the joint 2nd most amount of home games going Under 1.5 goals in the first period, whilst the Vegas Golden Knights have seen the 6th most amount of road games going Under 1.5 first-period goals.

Both teams are currently in the playoffs. However, they will be eager to win here as the Knights are just about holding onto the final playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Jets are pushing for a top-two finish.

NHL Pick

The Jets are on a 0-4 run and it is one of the main reasons we do like this first-period Under, as they will be looking to keep things tight, which is what they do best. Besides, their losing streak has seen them concede 4/3/6/4 goals in each game.

No matter what happens they will be eager to get one over on the Golden Knights and the Jets have one of the best goaltenders in the NHL in Connor Hellebuyck, who has allowed the second least amount of goals per game in the NHL with 2.42 per game.

New York Rangers vs. Colorado Avalanche

Thursday, March 28, 2024 – 09:00 PM ET at Ball Arena

Panarin vs. McKinnon

It’s a matchup between two of the league’s top points scorers: Artemi Panarin and Nathan McKinnon. Coming into this game McKinnon leads the way in first place with 123. Meanwhile, Panarin is coming 4th overall with 102 points.

Funny enough, it’s Panarin we are backing tonight as we believe there to be some nice value on his over 1.5 Points line at +130 NHL betting odds.

Panarin is as hot as they come right now having had 3/2/3 points in each of his previous three games

NHL Pick

We can’t ignore the plus money available on Panarin to bag himself 2+ points for a 4th game in a row. However, playing on the road won’t make a difference either. Panarin has had 53 points on the road in 37 games, compared to 49 on home ice in 35 games.

McKinnon might win the points battle overall this season but, regardless, we are backing Panarin tonight.
