Can Lucas Glover Continue His Indian Summer?

Yes, Lucas Glover can continue his red-hot form this week in Minnesota.

2009 US Open winner, Lucas Glover looks in the middle of an “Indian Summer” of form with a revamped putting stroke that has seen him accumulate three consecutive top-6 finishes on the PGA Tour. Glover finished 7th in 2019 when closing with 62, showing the forty-three-year-old from South Carolina is perfectly suited to TPC Twin Cities and a leading contender if his flatstick keeps behaving.

Going for a fourth top 6 finish at a suited track means Glover is a rock-solid top 10 selection this week at BetOnline. With four PGA Tour wins and a major championship on his CV, Glover also has the credentials needed to win this week’s 3M Open.

Main Betting Contenders

Tony Finau (+1200)

A missed cut at last week’s Open Championship could be a blessing in disguise for the big Utah man as defending champion this week. Hugely respected!

Sungjae Im (+1600)

Played all four rounds last week, and Sungjae Im looks to be coming back to his consistent form that has deserted him in recent months after returning home to win the Woori Financial Group Championship in mid-May.

Emiliano Grillo (+2500)

The enigmatic Argentinian had a strong Open Championship last week when finishing 6th to keep up his good recent form that saw him win the Charles Schwab Challenge a couple of months ago. Two top-3s here show how well suited Grillo is, but fatigue is likely to be a factor this week.

Ludvig Aberg (+3300)

The opening few weeks on the PGA Tour since Ludvig Aberg’s debut have seen the sportsbooks running for cover given the prodigious reputation he brought from the Collegiate golf world.

His placing 4th at the John Deere Classic correlates well with what’s expected this week, and the young Swedish is one good week away from locking up his 2023/2-24 playing privileges.

Gary Woodland (+4000)

Following last week’s Open Championship, it struck me how comfortable with his game Gary Woodland looked. On many occasions, he seemed to hit good putts but missed by small margins, but his body language exuded confidence all week.

This week, back at a track where flushers can excel and hide their short stick deficiencies, may be a good one to support the former US Open winner.

J. T. Poston (+5500)

The Postman is getting about for deliveries with a solid two weeks in the United Kingdom at the two Opens. If he can cope with the travel back between delivery shifts, Poston has a rock-solid chance this week at a great number.

Austin Eckroat (+5500)

After a warm run of form in May and June, Eckroat has cooled recently, missing a couple of cuts, but he is supremely suited by this test given how strong he is off the tee.

With his price rising, it could be a good week to get the former Oklahoma State guy back on side.

Sleeper Pick: Ryan Armour (+3500)

Journeyman PGA Tour professional Ryan Armour was a real eye-catcher in last week’s Barbasol Championship with his best effort of 2023. The forty-seven-year-old is probably treading water and keeping himself fit until the Champions Tour, but nonetheless, he has three top-25 finishes this year.

Interestingly, in 2021, Armour came an impressive 6th here and represents some hidden value in the place props markets. Here at BMR, we advise taking a props top-20 bet at BetOnline on Ryan Armour this week in Minnesota.
