True

Maybe just coincidence

No, not just coincidence if you do want to make it a political thing.

I'm saying there is so much obesity you can compare anyone, but you can get more granular.

Smoking, obesity, physical inacticity, chronic diseases affected by lifestyle (think heart disease or diabetes) all occur at a higher rate in Republican counties than Democratic counties.

The divdie between them grew quite a bit between 2006 and 2016. But it wasn't just Republicans getting worse, the mortality risks during that time were shown to improve more among Democrats than Republicans.

This has been the subject of studies for quite a while, there is data.

agree with KVB conservative voting states with much higher rates of obesity and poor health markers

Yeah.

It's pretty well known, not just"red states are fatter than blue states" that is most commonly known.

Republicans eat more meat and high calorie foods, less fruit and vegetable, and excercise less.

When it comes to Democratic counties, they do tend tohave a higher percentage of food insecure people (though I don't know about the most recent years).

lol, maybe that's why they are skinnier.

Just to be clear, there is statistically signifcant data that shows relationships between a wide range of health metrics and the voting pattern of counties in presidential elections.

Republicans are worse off than their fellow Democrats, and that includes life expectancy (without counting for COVID, which kind of really made it worse for Republicans post vaccine roll out, for obvious reasons).

Refined sugar and refined carbs are the highest profit margin amongst all the foods.

That's why advertising pushes this. Then our brains and body get hijacked and it's over. Most people have no clue about this

The data about obesity rates is here.

The maps show obesity is higher in red states across demographics. I don't know if it's due to lack of social services, lack of healthy food, or cultural preferences, but the correlation is pretty (no pun intented) big.
