I wasn't trying to single out women here. It was just a study that only included US women.
Don't get me wrong as I don't hate obese people. I have friends and family that are
very big. I still like them.
I just think it's a BIG concern in this country. I don't walk down some aisles in stores because I don't think I can squeeze through.
Most people drive SUVs or trucks it seems. Comfort and large families are some reasons but I honestly think many people can't fit in a compact car anymore. All I know as a kid most of the women around me I doubt were more than 140 pounds.
I'm way overweight myself last few years...maybe 30 to 40 pounds and I thought I ate healthy? Where does it end?

This is true, from more than one aspect, in fact many aspects.

The percentage of men that are overwieght is higher then the percentage of women that are overweight.

It's even true from a political perspective.

A wealth of evidence right down to the county level, including BMI and lifestyle choices, shows that Republicans are more obese than Democrats.

There are more distictions too.

African American women, as a subgroup, have the highest rates of being overwieght and obesity.

Definitions of obesity can vary, but a BMU greater than like 30 is used in studies.

With so many people overwight in general, you can break it down many ways, among all kinds of groups.

Guessing the "outliers" throw off the average a bit here.

Also - would like to see a breakdown - say midwest/Southeast vs Northeast and Southwest (excluding Texas)

I'd suspect there are some big differences there.

The point is that there are so many obese people that you can take any groups and compare them.

While the groups at extremes may share some blame, our mass food production system is really where the shit is.

It's the processed food that plays a part.

All that food in grocery stores. Sugar laden, fat laden, etc.

Along with lifestyle choices.
