When will the next NCAA expansion of football playoff be and how many teams?

I say 24 by 2030. Took 10 years to go from 4 to 12 but that was a big hurdle for them.

I think they need to go to 8 teams and stay at 8 teams. As JJ says most of the other teams once you get past the top 8 wouldn't really be deserving of getting in the playoffs. 8 teams definitely can state a case for being in the playoffs though and I think it would make for a better championship game if they allowed 8 teams in the playoffs. I think now its tough especially this year because somebody is going to get left out that probably deserves to be in but that's the way it goes when you only have 4 teams.

Top 25 max as they already rank that many teams in their rating system. Probably around 2030 as OP mentioned for expansion. #1 ranked team with a double bye could work.
