Good Monday to you BMR

What an eventful week 2-Sunday in the NFL:

*Denver rookie coach Nathaniel Hackett still looking clueless
*Bucs/Saints fight
*Tua Tagovailoa & Miami appears to have arrived
*Arizona's furious rally & comeback in Vegas
*Aidan Hutchinson proving he's going to be a force in Detroit's defense
*Trey Lance going down for the season & Jimmy G's return
*Joe Burrow sacked 6 times in Dallas behind what was supposed to be an improvemed O-Line
------------------------------------------------------------
There were a couple of standout posts in yesterday's chat/in-games thread that looked to be very accurate:

@stormtrooper8

"Yeah confirmed both Julio and Godwin out

Kamara out too though for New Orleans

Put the game in Winston’s hands = Advantage Tampa"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
@MinnesotaFats

"The Bears don't have a NFL caliber

Qb
Wr1 or Wr2
TE
Or a top 10 lineman at any OL spot

They are hot garbage"

---------------------------------------------------------------
We also had a few solid calls yesterday from our team here at BMR:

Giants came through for @Bettor Days and
@Seahawkharry

@stormtrooper8 nailed Bucs & Patriots ML

@Enikk with an interesting & correct call on Washington team total over 23.5

@doofy had a nice pick on the Lions

@carolinakid predicted Carolina Panthers first half

And yours truly @Wagerallsports gave you a fun little teaser winner in yesterday's opening chat thread post

I'm on Min ML tonight Wager.

I think they played exceptionally well vs a depleted GB team last week and have a lot of weapons at all key positions.
Cook - RB
Jefferson/ Thielen - WR
Cousins - had a QB rating near 119!!!!
Defense was excellent vs GB (yes, GB had some players out).

Meanwhile Philly stuggled to close out against Detroit. The Lions do look a lot better this year but it shouldn't have come down to a 3 pt game vs Philly. I like Hurts at QB but he only had an 80 QB rating. If MIN def shutsdown AJ Brown (a big if), Philly may not move the ball unless Hurts runs it himself. Min only have up 111 yds on the ground vs GB so it could be a rough night for the Eagles.

Love your thinking.

I don’t want to ruin a winning week for myself so I’m gonna be disciplined and pass on tonight, but I lean towards both dogs — especially the Vikings

  • There is an early game on Monday with the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardianswrapping up a five-game series in Progressive Field at 1:10 PM ET. When the AL Central foes began the series, the Twins were four games behind the division-leading Guardians. If Minnesota could have won the series, they would still have been within striking distance. However, after Cleveland secured the first three games, Monday's meeting isn't nearly as intriguing as we might have hoped. In any event, it lines up to be a low-scoring affair with Sonny Graytaking the hill for the visitors and Cal Quantrill getting the nod for the hosts. There isn't much fantasy appeal for those looking for spot-starters, but some juice on the "under" could prove profitable as strike zones tend to widen on a getaway Monday.
  • There is a second Monday matinee, this one on the west coast with the Los Angeles Angels entertaining the Seattle Mariners at 4:07 PM ET in a makeup affair. On paper, the Mariners have the softest remaining schedule as they jostle for playoff position with the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays. Remember, the top wild-card spot in each league comes with home field for the entire three-game series. Monday's pitching matchup has Logan Gilbert going for Seattle, opposed by Jose Suarez. Suarez (11% rostered in ESPN leagues) has pitched well for a poor Angels team. Even though the Mariners are in the playoff hunt, their offense facing southpaws is only league-average, so Suarez is in play as a streamer. Gilbert had a rough start to the second half, but the Mariner has since righted the ship, including 23 strikeouts (with only four walks) in his 17 September innings. Since the same "wide strike zone" theory applies, backing Gilbert to beat a strikeout prop could be a fun way to spend a Monday afternoon.
