In Hanoi, we have women traffic police directing traffic. They are very young and very hot. They direct the traffic early in the mornings and evenings. I’ll be honest with you. I’ve done a lot of things in my life , some good , some bad , experienced things and places that people will never do. Learning Vietnamese is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I am not fluent but I can have full conversations with people. I rarely speak English. I know all the slang here etc etc. I went to Hanoi University to learn it but immersing myself into the culture is better. I work at a convenient store for free to practice my Vietnamese. Most girls I’ve dated don’t speak English and if they do it’s minimal. I have been here 9 years and I still learn daily but I get by fine. I even do some commercials here and speak in Vietnamese. They love when foreigners speak their language. Most foreigners that live here never learned the language because how hard it is. I’m in the capital and we speak different than people in Saigon. It’s a tonal language. So when I go there they understand me but it’s hard for Em to understand them. I leaned with the Hanoi accent.
