They say they will investigate it.

But if the Chinese are doing the investigation, then what can possibly come of it?

It's all there on video, lol.

I don't know that there was any betting on this, I just called it a bad beat.

I’m sure they will check to see if there were any large wagers on the Chinese runner who probably had huge odds as a dog

But I think if that’s what they were up to, they would have made it less obvious

Kind of sad that these days even kindhearted acts get turned into something bad lol

I don't even know if there was betting, I doubt there was much.

It's one thing when they all decide to lock arms or run together and finish in a tie, or carry a fallen runner across the line.

But these guys pretty clearly let the Chinaman get ahead and then they all tied for second. That's wacky sportsmanship.

Yeah I don’t know the history

Maybe they have competed many times and they always whip the Chinese runner and decided they would give him this one

You cold see from the video the 3 african runners were easing up and not pushing for a hard finish. The Chinese guy was "out-of-steam" and no way could have won without the others help.

Either they were being nice (but why?) or someone had some money on the race.

Turns out those guys were contracted by a sposnor to be pacemakers for the Chinaman to help him set a record.

They didn't register as pacemakers though and pacemakers don't usually finish the race.

They were all stripped of the medals they won that day.

Mnangat added: "I don't know why they put my name on my bib/chest number instead of labelling it as a pacemaker.

"My job was to set the pace and help the guy win but unfortunately, he did not achieve the target, which was to break the national record."

Wow.... A complete setup. They didn't do a good job of pacemaking.
I wonder if they will get banned from any races (no I did not read the article).
