don't want to see Nole get his 23rd Slam Title overtaking RAFA so am rooting Alcatraz Island big time, but man at Plus odds of approx +175 talk about The Joker being a LIVE DOG HERE !!!

Ivan Lendl would beat Alcatraz on his worst day.
Ivan was tremendous.
was just talking to a buddy about him the other day.
8 straight US Open finals from '82 through '89 (he won 3 of the 8) was a remarkable feat due to the sheer competitiveness on that surface and at that venue.

he had to get through a loaded field to make 8 straight finals, not to mention avoid injury. absolutely incredible feat in that era IMO

Hard to believe he never won Wimbledon. He lost out on the Career Grand Slam by losing back-to-back Wimbledon finals to Boris Becker and Pat Cash in 86 and 87

Grass was the worst suited surface for his game but he still made two finals - amazing. He wanted to win Wimbledon so badly that sometimes he would skip the French Open just to practice more on grass and prep for Wimby !

There were numerous HOFers during Lendl's prime:

- Connors
- McEnroe
- Becker
- Edberg
- Wilander

even Pat Cash and Yannick Noah were tremendous players who I believe only won (1) slam title each?
