Well good luck fellas I will bow out of this contest. Im in last place not that it would matter. I pick the biggest dog winner of the season and it wins but it doesn't count in this contest lol 🤣 that's how my mlb season is going. I'm surprised bol didn't find a reason to cancel my +340 ml too

Did anyone give a reason why this is even a rule? Its just some arbitrary decision?
congrats on winning real money on that play. Sorry that it didn't count for the contest.

this is a free contest to win real money. Rules are rules based on parameters set by the people giving away their personal money for this contest. I understand the frustration, but in the end of the day, it is what it is

if you are choosing to exit the contest, that is your decision and we respect the decision. Good luck with your future bets. Hope you win some money

and just b/c you say you are exiting doesn't mean you won't still be listed as a participant meaning anytime you want to throw a fake bet into the contest. You are more than welcomed to

Hey Subaru can understand your frustration but if you spent the time to read the rules(Post #1) this would not even be an issue. And I Like Sam said JDS is giving a way a free roll and Sam is spending a lot of time grading. They make the rules and we play within those parameters. Good luck.

Yes I understand it's in the rules and yes I didn't fully read it and it's my own fault for assuming a ml would be fine to take

Still nobody has said why this is a rule in the 1st place. Just to eliminate like 5% of the possible moneylines to take? So nobody can make a comeback if they fall behind?
by maintain a -250 to +250 variance it keeps the standings close and tighter throughout the 4-5 month contest.

someone with a 10-40 record won't be competition with the guy that's 40-10. Overall, the standings reward long term winning. Not just picking the longest dog of the day and hoping for the best.

That's not your strategy at all, and yesterday you just happened to pick the biggest dog. but my overall point it maintaining close competitive odds

there's no perfect rules, overall we feel these are fair.

I know it does not apply to this contest but I'll give you an example of why sometimes the plays are limited. We have a limit the "Best Bet" thread. Its +/-300. Why?

Because "good" cappers don't make long-shot plays like that and win long-term. Sure someone can hit the lottery every now and then but, we wanted to avoid a capper who does hit a huge dog(s) from appearing to be "good" when, more than likely, they are just getting lucky.

The idea in the Best Bet thread is to find good cappers to tail and not just lucky ones.
-------------------------------------------
For this thread (I'm guessing), the limit is so that posters who grind out plays over the season with a lot of work/effort don't get beat by someone who just got lucky nailing huge dog after huge dog without any thought.

It keeps people from just tossing out "bombs" throughout the season to try and win when the idea is to payoff someone who actually "works" to find winners. I'd be mad if someone beat me by just getting lucky with huge dogs. That would make for a crappy contest.

Just my two cents. I step off the soap box now.:peace:

good points Tanko. It's a similar premise with the horse game. That is why sites like Horse tourneys and Derby wars have caps on payouts to help mitigate shot takers.

Fair enough. I wouldn't call a 3-1 or 4-1 dog a longshot compared to taking a 5/2 dog but that's just me

And obviously fair thing to do is if someone wants a big dog above +250 ml then they can accept that price even if true line is higher. I know it's a rare detail but again no worries, I wasn't gonna win anyway

In a few days or even a week you’re gonna forget about all this and you will know the rules. I see you coming back to try and win this contest because MLB is a long fuckin’ season giving up now would be foolish, no disrespect intended.
