Yes just different opinions, but maybe because I suspected and called it early on that it was probably employees there who refuse to budge as we all know & have experienced at books

People up top looked into it thoroughly, and admitted it was on an employee or employees.
But they had to be sure

I don’t think it being posted on a forum made much difference at all because over the years there have been plenty of cases in which players got the shaft and the books didn’t care at all that it was plastered across every sports betting forum and internet

I'm not really sure how it can be chalked up to an issue related to some screw up/bottleneck in the process

The terms of their max wins are very straightforward ($100k max) and the max payout for this was explicitly stated for this wager ($89k) so there is no way it could have been capped at $50k because of some "software issue"

They obviously just wanted to save some $ and not pay the full amount and it looks like they created two bullshit stories to do so

that may be truth but 2 factors to consider on that supposition. 1. USA Has legal books now so the market has shrunk considerably. 2. JDS is a popular and high profile sports gambler so he may carry more weight than regular Joe who joins a forum to vent.

You may be right but these books have supervisors in each dept and it’s my belief some things don’t go any further than those dept heads in the decision/making unless a lot of work is done to get around them and make others higher up aware such as in this case

I think there’s a lot of bad apples/employees at these books lol

We’ve all experienced their rudeness and cluelessness over the years interacting with them through live chat or email

Big parlays like this rarely hit so in this case, it could have been one customer service employee involved with grading, who noticed the amount, and instantly thought it was a mistake, so then took it to the supervisor

And then that supervisor repeats the process of thinking there must be a mistake somewhere since they rarely see something like this

Then they start digging looking for a reason why it has to be a mistake

And as mentioned above, once these people make up their mind, there is no reasoning with them. They are stubborn.

The only hope is if it gets higher up, such as it did in this case, thank goodness

So someone saw $89k and thought it had to be a mistake and then fucked it all up?

Just odd a sportsbook would operate like that with very clear, simple terms

Absolutely but BMR gets paid by Wagerweb so they have to do their own damage control too. Sad but true.

Yep the affiliation of BMR and leadership didn’t turn a blind eye, which is good

Only mistake they made is entertaining the software story, but that’s part of trying to keep business moving I guess

Personally I would cut them if I was BMR. Not worth it, because this will happen to someone else by them who isn’t as lucky.
