The last time I was given this article, I took just one NRFI bet on October 2. It was in the Yankees-Red Sox game, and there were no runs in the first inning and only four runs in the entire game.
Tonight, I’m back with another write-up for the NRFI prop, and the schedule includes two NLDS games. The Phillies and Dodgers will begin the doubleheader on TBS, followed by the Brewers-Cubs game.
That said, the Brewers and Cubs haven’t announced a starter for their NLDS Game 4. It’ll be hard to give out an NRFI bet without knowing the starters in that game.
However, we know the pitchers in the Phillies-Dodgers game, and the MLB odds reflect just how strong they are. There are some terrific pitchers on the mound to start the game. So let’s highlight the Phillies-Dodgers NRFI bet tonight.

As I stated earlier, I nailed a Yankees-Red Sox NRFI on October 2. The record in the postseason is now 2-2, with a slight loss. With a win tonight, we’d be in profit.
I’ll share my thoughts on why I like the Phillies-Dodgers NRFI below.
All Eyes On The NLDS!
There are two games on the schedule for the NLDS. Unfortunately, the Brewers and Cubs have not officially named a starter, making it hard to place a bet on an NRFI prop for that game.
However, there are probables for the first NLDS game. That’s the one we’ll be attacking. If you’d like to join in on the fun, open up a new sportsbook account or use an existing account and place the NRFI bet at the best odds possible before the line changes.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers NRFI (-125) at Bovada
The Phillies will roll with left-hander starter Cristopher Sanchez. The lefty has allowed a .083 ISO and wOBA of .216 to his last 115 batters. He’s also induced nearly 62% of ground balls and has allowed just 21.1% of line drives over the last month.
The Dodgers’ starting lineup is special with Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Teoscar Hernandez at the top of the order. However, Ohtani has struck out 28.3% of the time against lefties over the last 30 days. Betts has hit a .255 BABIP over the last month against lefties, and Hernandez has added just 21.9% of line drives against lefties, while earning a .278 BABIP against lefties.
There’s reason to believe Sanchez can escape any damage in the first inning.
On the other hand, Tyler Glasnow will start for the Dodgers. The veteran righty has allowed a .034 ISO and wOBA of .287 against his last 72 batters. He hasn’t pitched deep in games lately, but we’re only worried about the first inning. He’s limited his last 72 batters to 45.5% of ground balls and has a high whiff rate.
He’ll likely face Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and Bryce Harper to start the game. Turner has hit a very high rate of ground balls against righties over the last month. Meanwhile, Schwarber and Harper each have a BABIP of .279 or lower against righties over the last month. In fact, Schwarber has hit just 20.5% of line drives over the last month against righties.
The NRFI makes sense in this game.
What is a NRFI?
The NRFI means “No Runs First Inning.” You’re betting on the fact that there will be no runs in the top and bottom portions of the first inning.
