Why You Should Register at a Sportsbook Today
My best NRFI bet today is the Red Sox-Orioles NRFI, with Lucas Giolito in a great bounce-back spot and Kyle Bradish brandishing his career-long first inning success. Be sure to place this wager as well as my other couple wagers. Register at a sportsbook so that you can take advantage of propitious wager opportunities.
Red Sox-Orioles NRFI (-115) at Bovada
Boston starter Lucas Giolito is set to bounce back from his last outing, just like he did on August 15 and July 29 after his previous poor starts, against an Orioles lineup that he shut out in their only meeting this year on May 24. Baltimore starter Kyle Bradish makes his season debut.
Don’t worry about him, because he became sharp in his minor league recovery outings. His return is exciting because he has been a great first-inning pitcher throughout his career, yielding a .183 BA and 263 slugging rate in his career in this inning.
Twins-Blue Jays NRFI (-110) at Bovada
Chris Bassitt is reliable for Toronto today, as he has allowed a first-inning run one time since the start of July. Having yielded a 0.64 FIP (like ERA but factors out fielding) in his last start, he has the good form with which to continue succeeding in the first inning.
Minnesota starter Bailey Ober is equally reliable because he has a great track record against Blue Jays batters, yielding a .181 BA and .282 slugging rate against them. Moreover, relative to other innings, Ober is at his best in the first inning in terms of BA and slugging rate allowed. He allows a .200 BA and .280 slugging rate in the first inning this year.
Phillies-Mets NRFI (-120) at Bovada
This feels like déjà vu. On July 22, the Mets were coming off a game in which they amassed eleven runs and faced Jesus Luzardo, Philly’s starter who threw 6.2 shutout innings against them. Luzardo’s FIP being so much lower than his ERA suggests that he is due for positive statistical regression.
Today’s start is particularly promising because he allows a low slugging rate to Mets batters and in the first inning in general. Sean Manaea will also thrive today particularly in the first inning where he yields a .200 BA and .280 slugging rate this season.
What is a NRFI?
NRFI is a bet that you can make that neither team will score in the first inning. You can also bet a YRFI, which is that at least one team will score in the first inning. NRFI and YRFI have become popular bets because the fact that they get decided quickly makes them super exciting.
